His hour has not yet come. We continue our Lenten journey. Jesus opening words in this gospel speak to me. “I am the light of the world.” He is one with his Father, Creator of our world. Giver of life. I ponder his light, in the still beauty of a candle flame. In the nourishing warmth of a summer sun.

I love to sit and soak up the sun. I think of plants that turn towards the sunlight, each of the plant’s cells turns to the sun, towards the giver of life. So too each day in practicing our faith we orient ourselves to the light of Jesus. In prayer we can allow our hearts to bask in his light, to orient our hearts to him. So like a rose our life can open up to the world around us and reach for the joy and light of the resurrection.

Take time today to bask in His light.
