God’s gifts are all around us. Do we notice them?

The people of Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum didn’t. Jesus worked the bulk of his miracles and spoke the bulk of his message around these towns, but still they did not believe.

We might read Christ’s reaction as anger, but this is not anger. Jesus is speaking out of deep sadness and frustration. These are his neighbors, the people he loves, yet they are rejecting him. It is as if he is crying out, “What more do I have to do?”

Christ is still working his ministry among us. Our lives are full of his gifts. Do we recognize them?

Let’s take time today to notice Christ’s work in our lives.

What are God’s gifts in my life? Who are the people bringing me the good news? How will I respond to Jesus, who is working so hard to get my attention?
