A good friend and I had an adventure recently: a road trip from Philadelphia to Chicago straight through the polar vortex of 2014. When the road conditions became too bad, we swallowed our pride and found a hotel for the night. Sitting at the hotel bar, I was moved to gratitude for the everyday gifts of life, things we so easily take for granted. And even more, I became grateful for the gift of gratitude itself.
