“What are you looking for?” Good question, Lord, good question.
I am looking for answers. And direction. For purpose. I want to wake up every day knowing that I am part of something beyond me, more important than my wants and desires, something that will give me lasting satisfaction and inner-peace. Even if it is difficult or uncomfortable, I want to feel like I am pursuing God’s will.
St. Ignatius might have referred to this as “consolation”. The perception that I am moving in the direction God has in mind for me, feeling a sense of balance, contentment and satisfaction. My experience tells me this is not always easy to discern. But it starts with questioning our current reality.
