I am hopeful that today’s readings are appropriate for today, as we conclude this political campaign season. It has been pessimistic, taxing, and anxiety producing for so many of us. The campaign consumed every piece of our society for the last several months. For better or worst, it has come to a conclusion.

St. Paul’s letter to the Corinthians reminds us today what are true foundation is meant to be–not in one candidate or another, but in Jesus. Building our identity outside of our attempts to become Christ-like is going to lead at best to a shoddy building.

So, as we take the first step away from the campaign season, let us take a few moments to remember and reassess where our true foundation should be based.
