What possesses us that we must share the wonder of an encounter with Christ? We share words that will fail to capture the truth, beauty and goodness of the encounter. Is that why Jesus warns the two blind men to not tell of Jesus’ healing gift? Yet the blind men cannot hold silent once they experience themselves now able to see.

I remember an encounter within Sacred Mystery experienced soon after my mother’s death. Emptiness in me made room for the expansiveness of God’s Love and I saw everything around me as expressing love in return. I realized my life was not about MY life but about God’s life in me, through me, and with me. I felt a part of the Body of Christ.   All of creation was seen expressing praise simply by being God’s creation. It was very healing. I wanted to shout out to all to tell them of the joy of letting God’s love unfold in their lives. There is joy in simply being a part of God’s ongoing creative labor of love.

In this season of Advent, the Living Christ continues his indwelling in us, through us and with us. Let us be grateful for the Trinity’s ongoing Creation and Incarnation. Let us take some time to reflect.

What is being emptied in me here and now– making room for the fullness of God’s life?
