Kaya Oakes: choosing conscience over catechism

Watch the IN Network interview with Kaya Oakes, author and UC Berkeley lecturer, who isn’t exactly the mainstream stereotype of a Catholic woman in America today: she’s a fervent feminist, married to an agnostic, with an appreciation for tattoos and indie culture.

She shares her story of returning to Catholicism, her hopes for a “big tent” church where everyone has a place, and offers advice to those, like her, whose spiritual path is a long and winding road.
