Celebrating Women: Para las Mujeres, Por Mujeres

We visited Dolores Mission Parish and school to film Proyecto Pastoral’s annual Women’s Conference event. This year the event celebrated its quinceanera, or 15th anniversary.

The IN Network spoke with the Executive Director of Proyecto Pastoral Cynthia Sanchez, and learned how vital the event is to the morale of the women in the community of Dolores Mission, Boyle Heights and beyond.

In creating a conference specific to the needs of the women in the community, Proyecto Pastoral has promoted awareness about Diabetes Prevention and Healthy Eating habits, created invaluable group sessions catered towards therapeutic healing, as well as a once-a-year opportunity for the women of the community to come together, dance, and celebrate being Women.
